Holistic Therapy for Pre-Teens, Teens and Young Adults

Individual and small group therapy for pre-teens, teens, and young adults with Velocity Counseling is all about focusing on you and your strengths.  We use different methods in our therapy for pre-teens, teens and young adults, like art, music, movement, journaling and helping others to support you.  These hands on activities can help you celebrate what makes you unique while you work towards your personal, social, academic or career goals.

For pre-teens, teens and youth adults, this approach is especially important.  It helps you understand yourself better and build confidence.  By exploring your strengths and interests, you can develop skills that will help you in many areas of life. Plus, using creative and holistic techniques making counseling more engaging and effective.  It's not about just talking; its about finding what works best for you and helping you grow in a way that feels right for you

CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)

CBT, or cognitive behavioral therapy, helps you spot and change negative thoughts and behaviors that might be dragging you down. It's really about finding solutions, giving you the tools to control your thoughts and actions better.

Mindfulness/ Meditation

Mindfulness is all about staying in the moment, which can really help calm your stress and anxiety.  It teaches you how to handle your emotions better and stay focused, making everyday challenges easier to tackle.

Therapeutic Art Techniques

Parenting can be a challenging experience. Our team provides support and guidance to parents looking to improve their parenting skills and strengthen their relationships with their children.

Talk Therapy

In talk therapy, we'll chat about what's on your mind in a safe and supportive space, helping you sort through yo feelings and figure things out.  It's also a great way to sharpen your communication skills, which can really help you connect better with others.

Academic and Career Development

Our team provides assistance with job search, resume building, and interview preparation. We also offer career counseling to help clients identify their strengths and interests and explore career options.  We partner with other community members to provide career development activities for young people.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

EMDR is a way to help your brain process tough memories that feel “stuck.”

During it, you’ll think a little about what’s bothering you while following something back and forth, like my fingers or a light. This helps your brain reprocess the memory so it feels less intense over time.

You’re always in control, and we go at your pace—it’s about helping things feel lighter, not overwhelming.
